Metropolitan Restaurant Wedding

February 20, 2014

Johanna and Brad are casual people who enjoy the outdoors, travelling, camping and good pints of beer.  They spend much of their time training for triathlons and riding their bikes nearly everywhere they go in the city.

This beautiful bouquet, believe it or not, was a DIY project! The flowers were supplied by Yang’s Fruit & Flower Market.

The couple tried to keep things easy and local with the wedding day’s destinations such as the salon, officiates office, photos, ceremony and reception all within at 15 minute walk of the couples St Lawrence Market condo.

Johanna’s short modern dress suited both the bride’s style and the couples wedding day transportation, their bikes. As an added touch the mother of the bride’s train, sewn in 1969 by the bride’s grandmother, was worn and kept safe from the bicycle spokes swept up in the cruiser bike’s basket.

If you’re a city couple, there’s no better place to have your wedding and take your wedding photos than the heart of the city, in my opinion. I love that this couple wanted to incorporate their city lifestyle into their wedding day!

Weather wise, it was the perfect day. We had just the right amount of sunshine to take some great photos against some of the city’s finest backdrops.

At the end of the day, this is what it’s all about. Exchanging vows and becoming husband and wife surrounded by your close family and friends. Sometimes, you don’t need all the extra fuss!

The ceremony was followed by a lovely reception at the Metropolitan Restaurant.

I think it’s safe to say Johanna and Brad were quite happy with how the day turned out…just look at those smiles!

I had such a great time shooting your wedding, Johanna and Brad. You two are a great example that a wedding can be simple, yet still beautiful and memorable! I wish you all the best in your new life together!
