Archeo Wedding
July 30, 2016
Shavone and Jason had a small and intimate wedding at one of my favourite restaurant venues, Archeo, in the Distillery district. They wanted the space to feel elegant and not too stuffy, bringing the focus on the joining of two families.
“My favourite moment of the day was walking into the church. We didn’t have a first look, so that was the first time we saw each other that day.”
The moment they’d been waiting so long for…walking down the aisle together as husband and wife for the first time.
Opting for short bridesmaid dresses was definitely the way to go for a hot, summertime wedding.
Our photo session was taken at Scarborough Bluffs beach and although it was packed, the scenery proved worthwhile.
A lovely summer bouquet, designed and created by Cool, Green and Shady.
Archeo has a private and pretty backyard patio that is lined with twinkle lights and accented by amazing brick walls. The quirky and vintage Vango VW Kombi photobooth was a hit with guests and the day couldn’t have been more gorgeous!
The couple hand-made the seating chart and wrote out the thank you notes on their favours. They also put together table numbers from Minted with pictures of themselves at different ages of their life. Since this restaurant is small and looks stunning on its own, a lot of decor was not necessary. What I especially love about this venue is that the lighting is awesome! Depending on the season, it glows through the window art and candle light hits off the ceiling and wood in a warm and orange amber. It is flattering for any person. Shavone and Jason wanted to have a focal point at their head table and opted for an eye catching hanging chandelier arrangement of Baby’s Breath and Spanish Moss from the talented gang at Cool, Green and Shady.
Such an adorable touch! A miniature version of the bride and groom…each donning their favourite hockey team jerseys.
Capturing a moment of love between the happy newlyweds.
“Our first dance was to From the Ground Up by Dan and Shay. My aunt suggested this song and we liked the message about family…our grandparents meant a lot to us but unfortunately were not able to be at our wedding, this was a way to honour their impact on both our lives.”
All in all, this day was a huge success from the scheduling to the details, the food and the party! Thank you for having me capture your day as husband and wife!
