Lifestyle Newborn Session with Twins Aiden + Nolan

This newborn photography session with identical twins Aiden and Nolan was sublime. Can you even imagine?

These boys were just adorable, curled up together sleeping as if they were still in the womb. The miracle of life is truly so incredible. I was about 6 months pregnant when this photography session happened, and I would have to say it’s such a humbling experience. Now that I have my own baby, I am set-aback by how together they both were. They seemed to have a routine already in play and most of all, they both smiled and laughed through their exhaustion. What a power couple!   

And on that note, I have to mention the @expectful account on Instagram which I got obsessed with towards the end of my pregnancy and continue to be dazzled by. The fact that a human being was growing inside me, is astonishing. Tiny hands, feet, and a little pumping heart and organs. And then, that tiny human is in your arms and the concept of them living inside of you is just mind blowing!

Every couple has their journey of how they got their tiny human to existence and it’s really such a miracle. And then there are some couples who get two tiny miracles; two of which look exactly the same! WOWWWW

You have to wonder what these little guys can communicate to one another. Look at them sleep together hand in hand! 

I have known the father, Dean for over 15 years and it’s truly beautiful to see him so deeply in love with his boys. The two-some, Mandy and Dean are head over heels for their new family of 4 and the feeling is palpable. 

I recommend booking your photo session as early as the first week of your baby’s birth; however, many new parents are not quite ready for the upheaval. The shoot can take anywhere from 3-6 hours depending on how fussy your baby is – or babies are – and how much stamina you and your wee one has.

I take many breaks, shooting candid lifestyle moments with your baby and you, capturing real emotive moments in your home. I will do a few of your infant individually but my style is certainly documentary and not done with an Anne Geddies approach. As much as a cute baby bundled in a basket is adorable, it is not my shooting style, so expect cuddles, feeding, sleeping and real life moments to be more my jam. 

Aiden and Nolan;  you were quite possibly one of the easiest newborn shoots I have ever shot. Maybe that twin telepathy exuded one of calmness. 😉
