Erin Estate Boho Wedding

March 31, 2020

From the moment I met Mona, we clicked. She told me she used the words "boho wedding" in all her google searches when she searched for inspiration pics for her wedding. We simultaneously chuckled at the thought of this; we were a boho match made in heaven as far as I was concerned. lol. Mona is the kind of girl who makes you feel like you've known her for years. She has an immediate warmth to her. Instantly, I was drawn in, like all of the people who surround her.

When I got to the wedding venue, Mona and Shawn were getting ready on-site together. They each had taken over a floor to get ready on. The house was richly decorated with numerous textures like velvets and brown wooden siding. It complimented the wild woodsy outdoor space that they had chosen.

Mona's eclectic and bohemian style didn't disappoint either. Every detail was spot on! From her beautiful ring, to her wild flowers, all the way to her unique skirt and shirt pairing! She was a bohemian beauty suited up for the picturesque woodland backdrop ceremony.

Boho Wedding Forest Ceremony

The ceremony was a beautiful combination of Canadian tradition but also Persian rituals. Across a small wooden bridge in the forest, laid out a beautiful and modified Sofreh Aghd. Of course, it wouldn't be qualified Persian without the sugar rubbing ritual and honey exchange! The ceremony itself was spoken in both English and Farsi which was a nice touch for guests. It was intimate and laid-back, allowing the couple's personality to shine through.

The cocktail hour was situated on the lawn of the gorgeous Erin Estates. A comfy vintage seating set-up adorned the lawn with hand-made lawn games as guests mingled and a live band entertained. Mona surprised her husband with a song too. ;)

Tented Reception

The reception took place inside a beautiful white tent, decorated with the same cohesive bohemian woodland theme. Harvest tables lined in rows, with black on black plates and napkins. Vintage brass candleholders and table numbers added a mixed metal feel. The bride and groom chairs had custom macrame hanging on the backs and the cake table looked like a scene from a Disney movie when my team lugged it to the lined forest behind the tent for photos!

All in all, this wedding was a dreamy woodland vision that felt intimate and personal. It reflected the carefree personality of Shawn and Mona as a couple.  The reception got straight to the fun which is where Shawn really showed his true nature. Guests followed Shawn's high energy and love for dance and two worlds and cultures collided over music and funny and heartfelt speeches. The night was a beautiful memory of the couple becoming one. What a night to remember!

All the best to the both of you, Mona and Shawn.
