HOW TO MAKE A SUNGLASS CHAIN DIY

FOR SUNGLASS CHAIN
Collect x2 of each piece and put into a little tray to carry to a table, along with beads of your choice.
- 2 eyeglass chain ends
- 2 wire guards
- 2 crimp beads
- Beads of your choice
- Pick a no5. string (clear string unlike photo above). Unravel it to the desired length of your strap with a few inches extra and cut.
- Attach a needle to one end of the string to help you thread more easily.
- Thread the cord through a crimp bead.
4. Thread the cord through one side of the wire guardian and back down the other side.
5. Slide an eyeglass chain end onto the guardian.
6. Pull the cord tight and flush against the top of the wire guardian.
7. Slide the other side (loose end) of the cord through the crimp bead.
8. Push the crimp bead against the base of the wire guardian and use the bottom part of the crimp tool to crimp the tube.
9. After you’ve created the initial crimp, use the top chamber of the crimp tool to fold that crimp in half.
10. Trim the excess cord and start threading your beads.
