Olive Studio had the pleasure of documenting Chantelle and Devon's charming Prince Edward County wedding on a warm September afternoon. Chantelle's mother offered her summer home property to host the two-some's celebration!
Devon is from BC and really wanted to ensure that their wedding reflected their love for nature. I felt transported to the sea when I arrived at the beautifully decorated home. The clear blue lake and breeze felt as though I had been transported to Cape Cod. The property is just blissful!
Bridesmaids
The girls got ready in plaid shirts and shorts at the summer home snacking on cheese and sipping on champagne. The morning was especially laid-back. The girls walked along the lakeshore taking in the scene. I can't think of a better way to spend the morning of your wedding day!
Chantelle got ready with her sister and mother as guests started arriving on the front lawn. Her dress choice from Felichia Bridal was ever so appropriate with classic elegance and an understated beauty. Her hairpiece just finished off the whole look! Vintage style shoes from Canon Blanc are just gorgeous with her lace fitting dress!
Groomsmen
The boys got suited up at a country home down the shoreline just about 5 minutes away. The goal of this day was to ensure that it was stress-free and about enjoying friends and family. The groom looks handsome in a charming blue suit from Brooks Brothers.
Wedding Planning
Chantelle's ex-stepmother (which just goes to show you how awesome this family dynamic is) designed and planned the wedding. She did such an outstanding job creating a modern country lake look. I think she certainly excelled in fulfilling Devon's vision of feeling at one with natural elements.
A simple ceremony altar allows the focus to be on nature. The lake is a focal point at this location and what could be more natural and simplistic than to drape blowing fabric over the branches of a single tree?
Encore Tents hosted the party on the property. Darlene suited it up in style with wooden harvest tables, babies breath and stunning gold accents.

Before getting dressed, the girls walked along the lakeshore taking in the scene. I can’t think of a better way to spend the morning of your wedding day!

Even a Monarch butterfly thought it was beautiful enough to hang out on the guests petal confetti.
Sometimes a ceremony altar doesn’t need to be overthought. The lake is a focal point at this location and what could be more natural and simplistic than to drape blowing fabric over the branches of a single tree?
Chantelle’s dad couldn’t look any prouder!
Between the calm lake waters and the gorgeous summer sunshine, this unbelievable setting is what country wedding dreams are made of!
The knot is officially tied and these two couldn’t look any happier!
What a great guest sign in idea to utilize for their home!
The mohawk haired baby just made me gaga! aweeeee
Yum watermelon, basil and feta salad pops!!! So refreshing!
These two just look so adorable together. They made my heart melt.
A country wedding wouldn’t be complete without a double bicycle ride, right?
At the back of the house, this sweet tent, provided by Encore Tents, holding 80 guests was erected. Darlene suited it up in style with wooden harvest tables, babies breath and stunning gold accents.
Cute little details like this wooden laser cut sign dotted around the property.
I love the addition of the string lights a top the tent! It really adds atmosphere and helps me get some more ambient light to shoot with at night.
Bright green chargers flanked the table with a simple and yet again understated green garland along the table.
Well designed stationery goes a long way and can in fact help with design too! This thank you message adds a personalized touch which really helps make guests feel appreciated!
We definitely couldn’t miss out on shooting an epic sunset to finalize the photo-session! These two couldn’t be luckier or any cuter on their wedding day!
Darlene the planner, surprised the couple with a stunning cheese tower for their late night food snack! What a great alternative to something sweet.
This crowd certainly partied hard and well! What a great night to celebrate and dance the night away.
Congrats to you both! It was a pleasure getting to know you and capturing your love and admiration for one another. I am so lucky to have a job watching people’s love and affection towards each other. I could feel your connection from far away and think that the photos of you two reflect that as well.
