Black Creek Pioneer Village Wedding

April 15, 2020

Laura and Rory styled and planned their outdoor wedding at Black Creek Pioneer Village. The venue, just north of downtown Toronto, is a rustic escape from the city. The laid back venue enabled them to tie the knot and dance the night away in an outdoor vintage setting. The barn type venue has 3 walls and a roof, so it feels like an open air concept. It is a perfect choice for Canadians who don't want to risk the often volatile weather.

Black Creek Wedding

I met the artistic couple through a mutual friend. At some point we even lived on the same street, often bumping into one another. The two-some always looked like the epitome of cool as they went for walks to local brunch spots with their two kids in tow. They made parenting look easy AND cool, much to my admiration.

DIY

The hands-on couple partnered in the styling of their wedding just like their parenting. An Interior Designer by trade, Laura hand-made each and every one of the guest fabric napkins. This added a personalized touch to the eclectic and rustic vibe. Rory is a horticulturist, so it seemed only fitting that he would grow most of the flowers and arrange them too!  Many DIY's filled the barn with personal touches from the couple such as the felt boutanniere's and bride hair piece.

2 Best Men

Guests filled the venue with eager anticipation to see this adorable couple finally make their union official! The couple's boys equally partook in the excitement of their parents marriage too! In fact, one of the couple's favourite wedding memories is being surprised by their 5 year old sons impromptu speech to compliment how great his parents are!

Laura and Rory; you are a fierce partnership! It was my pleasure documenting you and your sons' celebrate the love you have shared with one another for years!
