Presenting a gorgeous wedding menu, for us, sets the tone for the food about to be served. Like anything, a good presentation generally informs the viewer that there is something worth waiting for.
Everyone gets excited to evaluate the food at the latest wedding. lol. It's almost like a rite of passage. If you deliver good food, you get a "win" for a wedding to remember. Not really fair, but you are likely reading this thinking of the last critique you gave on your boring stuffed chicken with goats cheese wedding dinner.
In our books, you have to get a lot more "win's" for us to remember your wedding. A good menu design to set the tone for the good food ahead is a good start!
There are plenty of unique menu ideas, apart from just a printed piece of paper too. Check out our favourite menu inspirations below!
Paper Menu's with Finesse
Rectangular paper menus are a given. But a menu with good design, beautiful stock and presented in a pretty way can up the ante just a bit. The first design from locksmithnearmenus.com makes us feel "farm to table" with the chalk board feeling of the design. Add a textured napkin envelope to present it in, with a simple sprig of rosemary, and that has got us swooning.
The second menu design (engaged.nl) is ultra modern and clean. A shared table menu is a great way to keep costs down. Instead of haphazardly leaning a menu on the centrepiece, make it look intentional and stand it up with a simple wooden stand. The look is finished and matches the design well. This makes me expect a caliber of food that is finished too.
Fabric Menu's
Now, if you really want to exude the feeling of luxe or effortless romantic, print your menu on fabric or leather! This menu idea is printed directly onto the napkin itself. The texture is just gorgeous!
No texture says rustic and laid back like wood. This heat embossed wooden cutting board is a perfect way to set a family style mood for guests. Use one per table or at the start of a buffet style service table and you have got it made!

Who ever thought a paper bag could be made to look fancy? And yet here is one made for a personal menu, boasting a fresh baguette. A beautifully elegant Tuscan touch!
Copper Pipe is such a great way to add the gorgeous metal accent into your decor! Creating frames and sign stands are easy to do – even for a non-diy-er. This menu stand made out of pipe can be double-sided. It is elegant and modern and reusable too!

Combine laser cutting with embossing on wood, and you can create intricate and unique designs for your wedding menu. This “eye” is so eye-catching (wink, wink) that it gets us intrigued right away. Whether you make one per table or mini wooden menu’s for each person, this is an extremely unique way to leave a lasting impression.
Again, we are all about wooden vibes over here. Keep your table looking rustic with barn board menu holders. I made these menu holders, attaching copper pipe feet and natural twine. Make them double sided so everyone can see!
Vintage window panes are another great and rustic way to showcase a menu. Hang it or lean it against something for every guest to see. This works really well for buffet style food service or for food stations.

Menu Signs
Some couple’s opt out of personal + table menu’s altogether and go for one large menu sign. Whether it be on a mirror, on an easel or window, we think this one is done with perfect elegance! Display it at the entrance of the reception so guests can take a minute to review what they are about to eat.
