Organic Spring Table-scape Inspiration

March 18, 2021

Olive Studio created an organic spring tablescape to inspire your next Easter holiday table. Spring is that beautiful time of year that everyone living in a cold country yearns for. The desire for colour, freshness, and life is just the remedy to put away those winter blues.

SPRING TABLE-SCAPE INSPIRATION

This table-scape is simple, earthy, fresh and screams spring! It is the perfect setting for an Easter brunch, shower, birthday or a dinner just because. The best part is, you can use items you already have and just buy a few key essential elements to add that spring freshness.

EGG DIY GUEST FAVOURS

Our egg DIY favours are affordable and super easy to make. Collect eggs from meals over a few weeks prior to your event, making sure to crack them near the top. Wash them out and collect one for each guest. The day of your event, fill the cracked egg shell with a flower of your choice. All you need is a sprig for a dainty detail. You can also fill them with dirt and plant a succulent or fill them with flowers. The choice is yours.

Display them cracked egg on a plate, in a napkin, or in a dome like we did on moss. Whatever you choose, simple is key.

EASTER CENTREPIECE

Since tulips encapsulate the essence of spring, we opted to use white and green tulips in clear glass vases for our centrepiece. We cleaned the flowers from their leaves to simplify the look. Keeping the leaves makes it fuller and sometimes busier, so this is a great trick if you want the flower and long green stem to be the focus. We dotted the vases along the centre of the table in a runner format, filling each with 1, 2 or 3 stems at most. Cut the flowers short so they droop a bit and fall in different directions.

In the very centre of the table, we created a tall focal point which is this adorable grey bunny. He fit perfectly in our metal cake stand which also looks somewhat like a bunny cage. We added moss around his feet to keep a cohesion to the design.

CRUDITE

Nothing says spring like a good crudite spread. Crudite is a great way to display food in a visually pleasing way. It is always a guest favourite for nibbling too! Focus on grouping foods together to create colour blocks, feeling free to mix and match veggies with nuts and maybe add some chocolate too. Don't forget a great hummus or spread. We decided to create one in a bunny plate of course!

NAPKINS

When hosting small intimate table-scapes where guests are using silverware and plates, it is important to stick to fabric napkins too. This element adds class and sophistication. Napkins are a fun way to add texture, pattern and design to a table design too. In this case, we rolled them up with the fringe facing outward, folded it in half and tied it with organic string.

This unique fold adds interest to the table setting and also warmth with its bright white texture. Fabric napkins send the message to your guests, that they are having a true experience when dining with you.

MINI EGGS

Who doesn't love a crunchy shell with soft melt in your mouth chocolate of a mini egg? The pastel colours of mini eggs go perfectly with our mint green palette so it is only fitting to display these delicious chocolates. Simultaneously adding to the Easter theme and additionally more colour to the palette, we filled some waffle cones with the mini eggs and placed them in our metal vase holder.

FEATURE COCKTAIL

Feature cocktails are a great way to keep your booze budget to a minimum. They similarly add colour and interest to your table. Choose a cocktail you love and go with it! Pick something that matches your colour scheme or that contrasts it completely. Garnish it with herbs, fruit, flowers or whatever is cohesive with your theme to make your look feel finished. Your guests will feel the extra attention too!
