Flower Garden Kids Party Theme

March 23, 2021

This spring has got us all in the mood for Easter decor! We created a Flower Garden kids party theme that works for Easter, spring, or any birthday celebration! Using an array of girlie pastel colours, we put together this look using our favourite local party supplier's gorgeous product. It feels good to support small and local business while creating inspiring new looks!

We want to emphasize that kid's parties don't have to be outrageously planned and decorated to make an impact. Sometimes the most beautiful stories can be told in just one table like this one.

FLOWER GARDEN TABLE DECOR

We started our place-settings with a circular violet dinner plate and layered it with the inspiration of the whole look, which was the flower plate. There are a lot of options to layering plates. Here, we chose to layer the flower off-set so that more of the violet colour could stand out.

CUTLERY

Secondly, we chose a light pink scalloped napkin to layer under the plates. Again, we off-set these to show the colour and to give the plates balance. Since our party food didn't require a knife, we opted to display just a fork and spoon as a pairing next to the plates. The cutlery too, has multiple ways to be displayed and they should be showcased as they are decorated with fun stripes!

CUPS

Next, we chose our glass jars as glasses with paper straws. The options for glasswares nowadays is outstanding. We chose a variety of options to show you that just changing out one element can make the look very different, and beautiful!

GIFT BAGS

Lastly, we finished off the look with bunny themed gift bags that are intended for the Easter Egg Hunt. Instead of filling them with bag filler we opted for something ultra feminine and fun; feathers!

BUTTERFLY GARLAND

The final touch was made with this 3-D butterfly garland. A perfect sense of whimsy to add to a flower garden theme. Our greatest advice is to avoid getting carried away with your theme. You don't need EVERYTHING to be flowered for example. Consider what lives in a flower garden and expand your theme to butterflies, bunnies or veggies for example. Paying attention to this crucial detail will allow you more room to be creative and have a more thorough story to tell.

CHILDLIKE AND GIRLIE TRANSFORMS TO MATURE AND BOLD

Transforming a design to create a completely different impact is easier and cheaper than you may think! We upped the ante with this childlike and girlie flower garden theme and made it mature and bold with only a few switches of decor.

SWAP THE CUTLERY + GLASSWARE

What truly identifies a kid from an adult when it comes to tablewares, is the kind of cutlery and glassware they use. Kids cannot fumble with sleek and large cutlery nor do adults enjoy eating with tiny forks and spoons.

The same goes with glasswares. Drinking out of paper cups doesn't feel overly classy. With all that being said, we swapped out the bamboo cutlery with sleek matte black cutlery. While they are still plastic, they feel expensive in the plastic cutlery department! lol. We took out the mini glass jars and replaced them with plastic wine glasses. Nothing feels mature like a glass to hold alcohol!

In addition to these two swaps, we changed the napkin to a modern black and white stripe. This helps ground the boldness of the black and make it belong to the storyline. To finish it off, we added a modern black and gold paper cup that would be used for water. While it is paper, again, it is much more mature looking.

OVERALL LOOK

The overall transformation from a flower garden theme for kids to a flower garden theme for adults, is easy and impactful. We remind you that hosting beautifully decorated parties don't need to be complicated. Choose your theme and remember who you are catering to. And then, just go with it!

Omit the flower plate altogether for an even sleeker design. Whatever you take away or replace, remember to keep each place-setting the same, paying attention to spacing and placement of items. Throwing items down will result quickly reveal a sloppy preparation.
