Olive Studio was back at it again with Reitmans for their holiday brand activation brunch. The gorgeous Peter Pan Bistro second floor space profiles a perfectly finished white and beech wood palette with huge feature windows. Olive Studio created an interactive event with Reitman's to get local social media influencers into the holiday spirit!
The Brand Activation Decor
A lush moss green velvet sofa from Divine Furniture and Belgian accent chairs help set the tone for this cozy Scandinavian styled event. A welcoming seating area by the fireplace invites guests to get cozy. The aroma of hot mulled apple cider and personalized crepes fill the room.

Texture played a big role in the look of this holiday brunch. Knits and faux furs created an aura of softness and warmth. The Scandinavian holiday look is deliberately sparse. Textural diversity is created with the use of multiple fabrics and colours. Ultimately this helped elevate the event's sensory experience.
Paper Installation
A paper star installation was created specially for this holiday event. I fabricated over 60 paper stars in 6 different sizes: scoring, folding, gluing and assembling them all. Stringing the stars with fishing line, I then hung them at different lengths from the ceiling over this beautiful dark wood harvest table. I ensured some of the stars touched the table and fell onto the wood. The overall effect is so simple and modern. It's almost as if there is a table runner but it comes from the ceiling instead of the table. You could make hundreds of these for an even greater impact but in keeping with the event's hygge inspiration, I knew a minimal number would be just as stunning! It certainly was the main focus for the social media influencers attending including Tania Motuzas!
The Mantle
The fireplace mantle is naturally a focal point in a room. Grounded by this beautiful vintage mirror that comes with the space, it was easy to decorate this area. White ceramic vases kept the focal point airy and cozy with the addition of one black vase. A sprig or two of winter conifer greens added some life to the room. Lastly, a simple beaded garland strung along the mantle with two knit stockings to add some more texture and warmth. Two tree trunks flanked the fireplace and showcased Reitmans' gifting.
Breakfast Feast
We cannot forget to feast your eyes on the overly indulgent pastry from the Tempered Room and cheese from The Cheese Boutique, designed by Olive Studio! Our vintage flap wooden table rental, hosted this sweet and savoury breakfast display. Keeping all display items in that Nordic appeal, I kept everything white and beech wood. A thick twine rope weaved in-between wooden crates. Lastly matte white ornaments acted as food signage, displaying beautiful cursive font.

It was a blast designing and planning this brand activation event for Reitman’s! Happy Holidays!

My favourite part of this setup was the paper star installation I created specially for Reitmans. Designed by me and cut with my trusty Cricuit Explore Air 2, I fabricated over 60 paper stars in 6 different sizes: scoring, folding, gluing and assembling them all. I then strung the stars with fishing line and hung them at different lengths from the ceiling over this beautiful dark wood harvest table. I ensured some of the stars touched the table and fell onto the wood. The overall effect is so simple and modern. Really, you could make hundreds of these for an even greater impact but in keeping with the event’s hygge inspiration, I knew a minimal number would be just as stunning! It certainly was the main focus for the social media influencers attending including Tania Motuzas!

These 3-dimensional paper stars are beautiful to look at from any direction. Tiny cut holes allow light to cascade through them, opening yet another creative exploration of adding twinkle lights inside each for the future!
Every social media event needs an interactive component and this gifting station seemed fitting for the holiday season! Light wood chairs against a dark wood table is such a simple yet effective design trick. The table itself is adorned with all kinds of present wrapping goodies, from black and white ink stamps, to strings, bells and wooden beads. Kraft boxes seemed like the perfect clean slate to allow our guests to let their creativity flow!
Guests chose cozy socks, pajamas and other lush products to fill their boxes before decorating.
Who doesn’t like to be crafty?
Our very own omelette and crepe station with delicious and aromatic ingredients to choose from made this brunch a uniquely personalized experience.

There is nothing I hate more than pre-cut cheese slices. It’s as if you’re still in school and mom has packed your lunch. There is nothing better than the sensation of cutting into a huge slab of beautiful stinky cheese and applying it yourself to a cracker or just straight to your mouth 😉
When displaying a cheese plate, I always ensure there are salty and sweet compliments for each type of cheese. Honey comb, olives and berries are a great way to play with the senses.
It never quite feels like the holidays, until you have dressed yourself with a furry pom pom!
Thank you for having us dream up this holiday concept Reitmans!
