Last spring, Olive Studio had the chance to plan and styleNivea's latest brand activation. The first of its kind to mass market innovation: Urban Skin Defence Skin Care.
Media and local influencers flocked to check out Nivea's new product line. Moisturizers, night gels, masks and cleansers were displayed amongst the grit and hardness of the product displays, urging guests to test the new product line. The lofty Burroughes Building Toronto event space created a perfect backdrop. Masses of concrete blocks displayed in building-like formations, displaying the products. Meanwhile, the contrast of lush greenery grew from within the confines of the urban space.
Activations
A Mirror activation photo booth allowed guests to take their own glorified selfie. Guests were thrilled to flaunt their newly tested Nivea products and even more, their skin even after a single use.
A graffiti interaction invited guests to paint their own graffiti art on this huge tv screen using digital spray cans.
An Insta-worthy detox lounge was designed around a custom live tropical wall. Guests detoxified with a custom mocktail from the innovators at BarChef. Interactive, infused, and aromatic smoke show mocktails awed the guests and played with their senses. Key ingredients from the Urban Skin line like green tea, magnolia + black rice were used.
The Look
Modern Bel-air cobalt blue sofas, with metal tables and black chairs added a modern urban touch in the lounge. Converting the loft columns into city street signs directed guests to feature areas of the loft.
A product display without candlelight wouldn't have been nearly as effective. These tea lights within the block crevices emulated city towers at night, adding further dimension to the product display.
Of course, a product launch wouldn't be perfect without ample sampling options for guests to test out products. Here, we used shards of concrete, slate, black rice, wheatgrass and moss to create custom sample displays.
Tessa Virtue
The presentation space, step and repeat, and area for Q+A's with a guest speaker took on a room of its own. The lovely Tessa Virtue graced the stage, posing for many a photo opp.
All in all, this event was a huge success! Thank you to the many vendors for helping create an urban jungle ambiance. This subsequently displayed the strength and beauty of defending urban skin against the daily toxins of city life.
