Family Photo Mini-Sessions

May 21, 2020

Mini photo sessions are a great way to document your growing family with breaking your bank account. MOst photographers offer a few mini sessions a year. At Olive Studio, we offer family, motherhood, fatherhood, grandparent and kids portrait mini sessions. They are 30 minute sessions in studio or on a set location, so stay tuned to our instagram @olivestudiocanada for updates on the next one near you!

Preparing for your photo-sessions

A great way to ensure that you get the most out of your session is to prepare yourself and your kids. Make sure everyone has eaten prior to the session and you have prepared your kids by building some excitement around it. Kids can take time to warm up to the environment and me, so mentally preparing them can help. If you are able to show up 30 minutes before your session, you can ease your kids into their environment. Let them discover it on their own or sit and adjust to the new sounds and sights. Lastly, let your photographer guide the session. They should make it interactive and fun for your whole family. Remember candid photography means that not all images should be of the subjects smiling into the camera. The point is to capture real authentic moments between you as a family. Let your kids be kids!
