Lakeshore Family Portrait Session

June 17, 2020

Last summer I had the pleasure of photographing a family portrait of my prior client's growing family. We headed out to one of my favourite Toronto lakeshore parks to shoot a candid photo session.

Michael is a happy-go-lucky little boy. His curiosity and charm was fun to capture and by the end he was running into my lap with surges of laughter. It always takes time to get kids to loosen up with me and the session itself, so I encourage parents to allow me to play with their kids without the camera first. This especially helps shy kids break down their barrier and start to enjoy the presence of a new person. I will then bring my camera out and start to encourage games with the child and his parents.

We set out to enjoy one another and discover the beach and the long grass. Here are my favourite captures of Michael who has clearly caught the hearts' of his mom and dad.
