Peter Rabbit Inspired Easter Table

March 23, 2021

This Peter Rabbit inspired Easter table brings me back to my youth. I don't know about you, but Easter is one of my favourite holidays for the excitement of an Easter Egg hunt, Easter games and spending time outdoors in the cool spring air. It is a time of renewed energy in all forms, and now with my son old enough to experience his first Easter egg hunt, it is a time to relive my childhood through new eyes.

Peter Rabbit Theme

I opted for a Peter Rabbit themed table because these napkins are just oh so cute. Instead of using the full set from Meri Meri, I prefer to mix and match. I used the Rocking Robin egg plate layered on top of white linen gold rimmed plates. This layering gives the set depth and the keeps the colourscheme streamlined to two colours. My intent was to keep this look cool, blue and a feeling of whimsy like the wallpaper. I didn't want any other colour to distract from this feeling.

Picnic Tables

I made the picnic table out of 2x4's and a pine sheet that I white washed. These tables are perfect for kids, as they are low so kids can sit on the floor to eat. A low maintenance table is essential if you plan on having multiple kids! These tables are rentable in combination with party packages styled by moi. Inquire within for the price-list and many options like desserts, backdrops, charcuterie spreads, cake toppers, and styled tables!

Chocolate Bunny Glasses

I wish I could say that this was my original idea, but it was Pinterest's of course. What a great concept to transform a chocolate bunny into a glass! I hollowed out the back of the bunny to fill with milk, added a bamboo straw and made tiny flower crowns to add an extra tada factor! Buy some extra bunnies in case there are any cracks! ;)

Peter Rabbit Loot Bags

Meri Meri also had Peter Rabbit gift bags that I used instead of baskets for an Easter egg hunt. Fill the bags with gift filler and let the kids collect in style.

Ombre Egg Centrepiece

I opted for two looks for the centrepiece as I like both so much! Ombré eggs are eye-catching as decor but can also be used as a base for a kids craft project. Let the kids decorate the eggs, paint the eggs or add tattoos to them.

To get the perfect blue ombre, I filled three glasses with 1/2 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of vinegar and appx 10 drops of blue food colouring. Use raw eggs if the eggs are only for decor, but obviously hollow them out if you will be multi-purposing them. Place the egg in the water with a spoon and start with your lightest egg. Wait about 40 seconds, and pull it out when it is just lightly stained. Double your time for the next, and so on.

Let your eggs dry out and you are all done! A beautiful ombre display of eggs in whatever colour you choose. The look is simple, yet very effective.

I accented the table with natural bamboo elements to match with the boho vibe of the room.

I made the picnic table out of 2×4’s and a pine sheet that I white washed. These tables are perfect for kids, as they are low so kids can sit on the floor to eat. A low maintenance table is essential if you plan on having multiple kids and not so many adults to attend to them! These tables are rentable in combination with party packages styled by moi. I tried two looks, one where I towered the eggs in a glass dome for some height and the other where I displayed them in an egg holder, so the colours spread from light to dark.
