Olive Studio finds inspiration in Scandinavian winter decor and uses twine and glass to create this holiday decor setup. The Scandinavian Holiday look is so minimal yet can be a challenge to do effectively. Using the paper stars crafted for Reitmans Holiday Brand Activation, I used that as a focal point for this inspiration decor set up. Mixing wood in orange or light tones results in the best look in addition to keeping everything crisp white. Adding texture with blankets, pillows, rugs and greenery adds warmth without adding an overwhelming amount colour.
If you choose to add colour in your Nordic-inspired decor, I would recommend light blue tones. It keeps that cool under-tone consistent.
Clear glass, white porcelain, and ceramic work wonders for graphic and clean shapes and lines. Here, I sourced these candle-stick holders from CB2 for a beautiful candle-light tablescape.
For the dresser top, I kept with light wood, glass and blues to be consistent with colour. When using real greens, I opt away from anything too waxy or shiny.
Twine offers a beautiful texture and colour for Nordic theme decor. Loosely stringing it through objects or making your own modern Christmas tree or ornaments can be an inexpensive and minimalist approach to decor. I bought a foam Christmas tree from the Dollarstore and wrapped twine around it to make this cute twine tree.
When using tapered candles, I usually buy them in different sizes so that the horizon line of the flame keeps your eye bouncing from one level to the next. It adds interest with such minimal effort. I hope you like this little holiday inspo! Leave your comments below. I would love to know what you think!
